Instruction for applying non-woven wallcovering by Loymina

1. Before you start

1.1. Order enough rolls of wallcovering since in case of reordering the wallcovering might come from a different batch; consequently discrepancies in tints are possible.

1.2. Make sure you have purchased wallcovering of the required article from the same batch. Please keep the labels with the batch number before you finish wallcovering pasting.

Please note: The Company holds no responsibility either for defects caused by incorrect wallcovering pasting or for any indirect losses.

1.3. Scrutinize quality and quantity of the wallcovering before cutting. All mismatches and misfits shall be revealed before wallcovering application process.

1.4. Do not paste the wallcovering at the temperature below 15 C and with humidity over 65%. To achieve good results one should ensure constant temperature and lack of drought.

1.5 Please unscrew and take off all outlet covers, apply painting tape around them in order to avoid access of the glue into the outlets which might cause short circuit. Also remove lamp sockets, cut off power and insulate open cords. To cut out outlet space properly, make four cuts from the corners towards the center of the outlet which will decrease wallcovering tension. Afterwards flatten the wallcovering and carefully remove protruding edges. Upon drying of the wallcovering, put the covers back.

2. Wallcovering preparation

Before pasting the wallcovering pay attention to the pattern and decide whether matching is required.

There might be several options:

2.1. Matching is not required (wallcovering has no sophisticated patterns, therefore matching is not needed)

2.2. Pattern is direct (direct matching, similar patterns on different strips match on the same height)

2.3. Offset matching (vertical shift of the pattern)

2.4. Counter matching (every next strip is pasted upside down. With this type of matching seams are less visible).

3. Wall preparation

3.1. The walls shall be even, flat, tough, dry and clean and free of paint, grease, old glue and mold.

3.2. Newly plasted walls shall dry out first before applying underlayer. GYPROC is recommended.

3.3. All walls shall be primed.

3.4. Aquaos dispersion cannot be used as a primer.

3.5.As a primer we recommend the glue SEM-MURALE 30% dispersed with water or the German primer GYPROC

4. Strips preparation

4.1. Cut the strips out of the roll with the length equal to the height of your ceiling and leave 10-15 sm extra for trimming

4.2. At first do not cut more than three strips. Upon pasting three strips, check the quality of the material and pasting. In case the quality is acceptable, keep on pasting.

4.3. Wallcovering shall be pasted vertically in order to keep patterns straight-line. For this purpose it is recommended to draw a vertical line in the place of the first strip. To draw a perfectly vertical line it is required to use either a plummet or a laser level or just a gauge. If plummet is used one shall draw in pencil barely visible strokes. It is better to use a pencil the color of which is similar to the color of the wallcovering. Otherwise heavy lines might appear on the front surface of the wallcovering. It is prohibited to use felt pens and markers for drawing vertical lines and cutting. Felt pens and markers penetrate into the texture of the wallcovering which leads to stains on the front surface of the wallcovering.

4.4. The first strip shall be pasted in plummet. Following strips shall be pasted in the order of which they have been cut off the roll.

5. Wallcovering pasting

5.1. Apply the glue onto the wall if the wallcovering is nonwoven. It is recommended to use SEM-MURALE glue.

5.2. Follow the instruction of the glue manufacturer when applying it onto the wall.

5.3. Paste the wallcovering and smooth it using a soft spatula or a wallcovering brush. Do NOT use a scrubber which may damage the surface of the wallcovering.

5.4. Use a sharp knife to cut off top and bottom allowance of the wallcovering. It is recommended to regularly change the blade of the knife to avoid improper cutting.

5.5. Avoid the glue on the front surface of the wallcovering and its ingress on the seams. Do not rub or scour up the seams. If the glue gets onto the edges anyway, carefully remove it with a sponge. Wall coverings with embossed and flickering surface as well as textile wallcovering shall be pasted and handled carefully. These types of wallcovering are not tolerant to rubbing and direct impact of water. Small silver particles of the flickering surface may remain on your hands which does not adversely affect the appearance of the wallcovering and does not speak for its low quality.

Note!

This manual covers only general recommendations and does not describe all nuances and peculiarities of wallcovering pasting procedure. It is the specialist who makes a final decision regarding wallcovering pasting. The manufacturer does not incur any liability for labor costs relating to defective wallcovering pasting or incorrect pasting due to disregard of this manual.

6. Wallcovering removal

If pasted correctly, the wallcovering goes off dry and completely.
